It would be lovely if another man with similar status at the BBC stood up and said how ridiculous it was With Statistics, though. I mean, I can see why they would think that it wasn't their place and that a woman should answer this kind of charge, but it does make it seem men-vs.-womeny rather than common-sense-vs.-being-a-wankery.
