I have actually just the second fixed it by remembering that my PC is all set up to use the internet at my dad's house which requires me manually setting the IP address. In MY house, IP addresses can be given out by the router and AUTOMAGICALLY it all works! Hurrah! I knew as soon as I asked the universe I would figure it out.
